The naming of the new high-voltage power line connecting Romania and Moldova has sparked a dispute. While U.S. officials and Moldovan authorities refer to it as the "Trump Liberty Line," Transelectrica claims the official name is different. The project, costing approximately 151.8 million euros, is funded by Transelectrica, with no current U.S. financial allocation for Romania. The line will span 144 kilometers in Romania and 72 kilometers in Moldova, enhancing energy exchange capacity between the two countries. Authorities in Moldova are moving forward with declaring the project a national public utility, but no completion date has been announced.
