Two renowned surgeons from Krakow intervened during a shooting attack, providing critical aid to injured police officers. Professor Michał Pędziwiatr and Dr. Mateusz Wierdak were dining nearby when the attack occurred, resulting in six fatalities and sixteen injuries. They rushed to assist the wounded officers, with Pędziwiatr later performing surgery on one of them. The attack involved a gunman who drove into the main square and opened fire randomly, causing panic among bystanders. The police apprehended the suspect shortly after the incident, which also involved the tragic deaths of his family members prior to the attack.
