WWF-Romania emphasizes the importance of non-lethal prevention measures, such as proper waste management and electric fences, which have proven successful in reducing bear encounters in Băile Tușnad. Experts argue that without addressing the root causes of bear intrusions, such as agricultural expansion and waste mismanagement, the problem will persist. The focus should be on identifying and managing problematic individuals rather than increasing hunting quotas.
