Polițiști reținuți și acuzați că au torturat protestatari în Serbia. „Au provocat durere mare și suferință severă”
Nine active police officers and one former officer in Serbia have been detained for allegedly torturing protesters during anti-corruption demonstrations last year. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that these officers, part of an elite unit, used excessive force against detainees in August 2025. The protests were sparked by a tragic incident in Novi Sad that resulted in 16 deaths. The student movement, Lista Studenților, emerged from these protests and achieved significant electoral success. Authorities have also detained the head of the criminal investigation department amid accusations of police brutality during the protests.
