Odiseea unui tablou furat de naziști în urmă cu opt decenii. Opera a fost restituită moștenitorilor proprietarei
A painting stolen by Nazis from a Jewish family in France in 1942 has been returned to the heirs during a ceremony in Paris. The artwork, "Portrait de femme en bleu" by Cornelis Janssens van Ceulen, was taken from Gabrielle Philippson's home shortly after her death. Hermann Göring selected this piece for his personal collection, and it was later found in Berchtesgaden after World War II. Although some items were recovered by Philippson's children, this painting remained missing until its discovery in 2023 at the Massey Museum. A recent French law facilitates the restitution of looted artworks, highlighting the ongoing issue of art provenance.
