Mersul cu trotinetele electrice, la un pas de vitală schimbare. Legea care impune un fel de permis pentru a le conduce pe străzi și bulevarde a trecut de Senat • Știri București

A new law regulating electric scooter use is set to be enacted, requiring riders to complete a traffic legislation course. The Senate approved the proposal, which mandates that only those who have passed the course can ride scooters on public roads. This initiative aims to enhance road safety by ensuring that riders understand traffic rules and responsibilities. The course completion will be recorded in a national registry managed by the Romanian Road Authority. Current regulations allow individuals aged 14 and older to ride scooters without any prior knowledge verification. The law also introduces penalties for rule violations, with fines reaching up to 1,800 lei. The proposal will now be reviewed by the Chamber of Deputies, which has the final say.
