A significant cleanup event took place in Valea Saulei, with over 100 volunteers participating to protect this natural area in Bucharest. The initiative aims to establish Valea Saulei as the city's third protected natural area, following Delta Văcărești and Pajiștea Petricani. Volunteers discovered various types of waste, including construction debris, and local residents are working on solutions to prevent further pollution. The project, supported by the Parcul Natural Văcărești Association, focuses on minimal, non-invasive interventions to preserve the ecosystem, which is home to over 70 bird species and various wildlife. A study for the area’s protection has already been submitted.
