Eurostat: România are cel mai ridicat cost mediu al datoriei publice guvernamentale din UE

According to Eurostat, Romania has the highest average cost of government public debt in the EU at 5.2%, followed by Poland at 4.5%. The average cost remained stable or slightly increased in most EU countries from 2024 to 2025. Significant increases were noted in Lithuania, Denmark, and Romania, while seven countries saw a decrease. By the end of 2025, Romania and Bulgaria were the only EU countries with over 50% of public debt denominated in foreign currency. Additionally, 12 EU countries reported a debt-to-GDP ratio above 60%, with Greece having the highest at 146.1%.
