Romania's highway network has expanded to nearly 1,488 km following the recent opening of 13 km of the A0 ring road. This year, approximately 73 km of new highways have been inaugurated. Optimistic projections suggest that over 160 km could be opened by year-end, including sections of A1 and A3. However, the head of CNAIR is cautious about the complete opening of A0, predicting only partial completion this year. If all goes well, the total highway and express road network could exceed 1,660 km by the end of 2026.
