On November 8, a referendum in Rășinari, Sibiu County, regarding mining activities achieved the necessary voter turnout for validation. Approximately 49.08% of registered voters participated, surpassing the minimum threshold. The referendum was prompted by the proposed mining project by Mineral Proiect Invest S.A. in the Valea Dobra area, which has raised concerns among locals about environmental impacts and tourism. The local administration previously expressed objections to the project, requesting further evaluation and public consultation. The mining investment is estimated at around 25 million euros, with a proposed operational area of seven hectares over 20 years.
