On November 8, the National Liberal Party convened a National Political Bureau meeting to address its debts, totaling nearly 20 million euros. The party faces significant financial obligations, including over 14 million lei from the electoral campaign of former president Nicolae Ciucă, which the High Court has mandated to recover. President Ilie Bolojan indicated plans to pursue legal action against former leaders responsible for the debts. The meeting also discussed the withdrawal of liberal prefects and sub-prefects and initiated negotiations for a merger with Ludovic Orban's Forța Dreptei party. This merger is part of the strategy to establish a Modernization Pole, aiming to create a credible center-right alternative for the 2028 elections.
