Călin Georgescu, a former presidential candidate, has spent 41 consecutive nights in detention, with supporters rallying outside the Central Arrest for his release. Protests also occurred in Constanța, where demonstrators expressed their discontent with his preventive arrest. Georgescu was detained on charges of forming an organized criminal group and fraud, following a complaint from a businessman who claims to have lost significant funds. The Bucharest Court of Appeal extended his preventive arrest, and a new request for house arrest will be reviewed soon.
