A major water supply project was inaugurated in Costești, Gorj, ensuring water for Craiova and surrounding areas. The Izvarna II source, costing over 500 million euros, took seven years to complete. Environmental concerns arose regarding local frog populations due to water diversion. The project spans 123 kilometers and involves complex infrastructure. Former ministers praised the initiative, emphasizing the importance of access to potable water. Over 450,000 beneficiaries will now receive spring water, with more than 50,000 from Gorj. The project highlights successful collaboration between local authorities.
