On November 8, Spanish F-18 fighter jets took off from Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base after radar detected an aerial target near Snake Island in Ukraine. Following this, two NH-90 helicopters also launched from the same base. The radar identified the target approximately 30 kilometers east of Snake Island, prompting the National Military Command Center to alert the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. A RO-Alert message was sent to warn the population in eastern Tulcea County.
