A recent study published in "Nature Communications" identifies ten dietary patterns linked to slower biological aging. Researchers analyzed data from 6,470 participants aged 30 and older, correlating dietary adherence with blood biomarkers indicating biological age. Healthier diets were associated with slower aging, potentially reducing risks of age-related diseases. Notable diets included the Mediterranean, Nordic, DASH, and MIND diets. The study found that adopting even one healthy diet could help maintain biological age in line with chronological age. While specific diets influenced different aspects of aging, over 70% of biological pathways affected were common across all diets. The findings suggest a significant link between diet and biological aging, although causation remains to be established.
