Romania experienced its coldest night of autumn, with temperatures dropping below zero across most regions. The lowest recorded temperature was -10.5 degrees Celsius in Miercurea-Ciuc. Many areas in Transylvania saw temperatures near -10 degrees, while major cities also reported negative values. Despite the widespread cold, some western regions recorded positive temperatures. The cold snap is attributed to the geographical features that trap cold air in depressions. Forecasts indicate a warming trend with maximum temperatures expected between 7 and 13 degrees Celsius in the coming days, although nighttime lows may still reach -12 degrees in certain areas.
