The referendum is linked to a project by Mineral Proiect Invest SA for mining magnesite in Valea Dobra. Residents will vote on whether they agree to any mining exploitation in the area. The mayor has issued a negative urbanism certificate for the project due to ongoing legal proceedings regarding the referendum. For the referendum to be valid, at least 30% of registered voters must participate, and 25% of votes must be validly expressed.
