Pig breeders of Bazna and Mangalița breeds may receive a financial aid of 2,300 lei per eligible sow. The Ministry of Agriculture announced a 2 million lei budget for this support scheme. To qualify, farmers must register their animals in the genealogical registry, conduct DNA tests, and sell at least four piglets per sow. The scheme aims to support breeders in preserving these important native breeds. Applications will be accepted at County Agricultural Directorates, and payments will be made by December 18, 2026. Eligible beneficiaries include authorized individuals and legal entities engaged in primary agricultural production.
