Senator Tanczos Barna expressed confusion over the lavishness of Alfred Simonis's party, contrasting it with UDMR's usual modest events. He acknowledged the joy of the occasion but criticized the opulence amid societal financial struggles. Barna emphasized that such displays can tarnish the image of politicians, particularly the Social Democratic Party, and highlighted the negative impact of public perceptions on the political class. He noted that while he understands Simonis's desire to celebrate, the level of luxury displayed was unexpected and could reflect poorly on all politicians.
