Authorities will decide on Monday whether Unit 2 of the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant can be restarted, depending on the Danube's water level. The water must rise by at least 10-15 centimeters for the restart to occur. Currently, the water level is sufficient for Unit 1 but not for Unit 2, which has more complex requirements. An analysis will be conducted on Monday to assess the water level and its impact on the restart conditions. The Energy Minister emphasized the importance of restarting Unit 1 to reduce electricity imports, especially in the evening hours. The Prime Minister visited the plant following the resynchronization of Unit 1 to the National Energy System after being offline since July due to low water levels.
