The Batthyaneum Library in Alba Iulia has completed a significant digitization project of its incunabula collection, the largest in Romania. Over 280,000 pages from more than 600 incunabula printed between 1468 and 1500 have been scanned. Nearly half of these volumes are now available online through the National Library of Romania's platform. Library director Cristian Mladin emphasized the cultural importance of these early printed books, which reflect the intellectual heritage of Europe during the Renaissance. He highlighted the necessity of access to culture and the role of libraries as spaces for authentic silence and reflection.
