The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing a loan of up to €31.9 million to Midmar Callatis for the construction of the Dunărea East wind farm in Romania. This project, with a capacity of 292.5 MW, aims to produce 673 GWh of renewable energy annually, equivalent to the electricity consumption of around 600,000 people. The financing is part of a larger €367 million package and includes a €7.6 million loss guarantee from the EU's InvestEU program. EBRD is also collaborating with Rezolv Energy on a skills development program in Constanța, targeting at least 100 individuals, with a focus on increasing women's participation in the sector. This investment supports Romania's efforts to enhance energy security and reduce reliance on imported fuels.
