The inauguration of the Izvarna-Craiova water supply system took place in Gorj County, featuring a 123-kilometer pipeline costing over 500 million euros. This project aims to provide mountain spring water to Craiova and surrounding areas, marking the largest water infrastructure investment in Oltenia since 1990. Mayor Lia Olguța Vasilescu expressed her joy at the project's completion, highlighting its significance as a once-in-a-century achievement. The pipeline, which underwent special manufacturing across four countries, involved approximately 7,000 expropriations and passes through 16 localities. Residents will now have access to high-quality spring water without the need for treatment, a long-awaited promise fulfilled by the local government.
