The National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration has launched a tender for the first section of the "TransBai" project, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion on the DN1 road. This new route will connect Gura Vitioarei to Valea Doftanei and further to the resorts of Azuga and Bușteni. The estimated contract value is 288.7 million lei, and the project includes modernizing and expanding several county roads. The initiative is expected to enhance tourism in the Baiului Mountains and stimulate local economic development by improving access to previously hard-to-reach areas. The tender is open until December 15, 2026.
