Prime Minister Luca Niculescu and Energy Minister Dumitru Chisăliţă will visit the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant following the resynchronization of Unit 1 to the National Energy System. The unit was offline for over three months before being restarted on November 6, 2026. The visit is scheduled for 10:00 AM, with a press conference to follow. Unit 1 is currently generating 276 MW, with a maximum capacity of 700 MW. The restart was approved after regulatory checks confirmed safety conditions. The restart of Unit 2 depends on stable water levels in the Danube, necessary for cooling operations.
