On Black Friday 2026, PayU Romania processed online payments totaling 611 million lei, with a notable rise in digital wallet transactions. The highest single payment reached 134,000 lei, while beauty products and consumer goods topped the sales list. The average shopping cart value was 520 lei, significantly higher than usual. Digital wallets accounted for 77% of transactions, with installment purchases also increasing. PayU anticipates a decline in digital wallet usage as the day progresses, as initial purchases are made by quick customers.
