Doug Barnard transformed his life after losing his job in 2020, choosing to travel full-time and create content for YouTube. His journey began with a trip to Saudi Arabia, leading him to settle in Istanbul in 2023. Barnard founded a tourism agency offering immersive tours in less-visited destinations like Iraq and Syria. He emphasizes authentic travel experiences, contrasting them with mass tourism in places like Egypt and India. Living in Istanbul allows him to integrate into the culture and learn Turkish, while his agency caters to small groups seeking unique adventures.
