A businessman from Brașov faces charges of tax evasion and embezzlement for failing to pay VAT and income taxes on real estate sales. The alleged financial damage to the state budget exceeds 1.1 million lei from contracts with 14 buyers. He is also suspected of misappropriating over 3 million lei by reporting lower sale prices than actually received. Investigations revealed that between February 2025 and October 2026, he omitted to record the true income from apartment sales to evade tax obligations. He was detained for 24 hours and is now under judicial control for 60 days.
