In Romania, new car registrations fell by 26.4% in Q3 2026 compared to the previous year, with only 28.3% of registered cars being new. The total number of registrations, including used cars, decreased by 19.8%. Used cars accounted for nearly 72% of all registrations. Conversely, registrations of motorcycles and mopeds increased by 9.8%, with new motorcycles rising by 20.4%. The decline in registrations also affected buses and trucks, while electric vehicles reached nearly 73,000 units. The data reflects a significant shift towards second-hand vehicles in the Romanian market.
