Ana Maria Bărbosu has been suspended for two years starting May 5, 2026, due to violations of anti-doping regulations. The Tribunal Arbitral du Sport (TAS) confirmed that she failed to communicate her whereabouts for doping tests on three occasions. Despite the suspension, her competition results from December 2025 onwards remain valid. Bărbosu is also involved in a separate arbitration case regarding the 2024 Olympic Games. The case will be reexamined with new evidence, and no hearings are expected before May 2027.
