A joint drone production project between Romania and Ukraine, initiated in March, is reportedly stalled due to former Defense Minister Radu Miruță's decisions. The allocated 200 million euros from the SAFE program are currently on hold, with Defense Minister Radu Oprea considering transferring the project to the Ministry of Economy, which oversees defense production companies. The blockage is attributed to the choice of Romtehnica for project implementation, despite its lack of necessary capabilities. The initiative aims to enhance Romania's defense industry through collaboration with Ukraine and technology transfer.
