The Romanian Railway Reform Authority (ARF) announced the reception of the Traxx Passenger electric locomotive LE 015, marking a significant step in the delivery of 16 new electric locomotives from Alstom. The final locomotive is set to be received next week, completing the project. The locomotives will serve a 3,978 km railway network across five major interregional routes, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. The project aims to replace older, less efficient rolling stock with modern, sustainable alternatives, contributing to a greener transport system in Romania. The total project cost is approximately 441 million lei, funded by the Modernization Fund.
