The Sibiu City Hall has initiated a public debate on the local tax and fee regulations for 2027, maintaining standard rates while introducing severe penalties for neglected properties and incentives for eco-friendly vehicles. A significant measure includes a 500% tax increase on unmaintained buildings and land within the city limits. Residential properties will have a tax rate of 0.08%, with a 10% discount for early payments. Electric vehicles will enjoy a fixed annual tax of 40 lei, while hybrid vehicles with low emissions will receive a 30% tax reduction. The tourism promotion tax remains at 2%. Public feedback is invited until November 10, 2026.
