The Romanian Minister of Agriculture, Florin Barbu, announced two new credit programs for farmers, offering loans at a fixed interest rate of 1.90%. The Ministry will cover costs related to ROBOR and other fees. Barbu emphasized the need for favorable conditions for agricultural producers to sustain and develop their farms. He also discussed the importance of maintaining direct support and investment funding under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Barbu warned against losing significant EU funding for agriculture due to strict conditions and highlighted the necessity of supporting livestock and food processing sectors.
