In October 2026, 935 insolvency cases were registered in Romania, marking an 8% increase from the previous month. Nearly half of these cases were concentrated in Bucharest and surrounding counties. Bucharest alone accounted for 220 cases, a rise of 18% compared to October 2025. Significant increases were noted in counties like Vrancea and Dâmbovița, while some areas like Maramureș and Sibiu saw declines. The construction sector faced the highest number of insolvencies, followed by transportation and restaurants, with the latter experiencing a notable increase due to high operational costs.
