The street was closed to traffic for the event, allowing people to enjoy the festive decorations and a fireworks display. Mayor Sadiq Khan highlighted the importance of supporting local businesses during this time. Following Regent Street, Oxford Street will also be decorated, inspired by Harry Potter. Leicester Square's Christmas lights were the first to be turned on this year, starting November 1.
