France has no intention of recognizing the Taliban authorities, despite resuming technical dialogue for the expulsion of Afghan nationals deemed a security threat. The French Foreign Ministry spokesperson clarified that this dialogue does not imply recognition of the Taliban regime. There were no Taliban representatives at the Afghan consulate in Paris, countering media reports. France has maintained no diplomatic relations with the Taliban since their return to power in August 2021. The discussions aim to facilitate the return of Afghan citizens who pose a danger to public order in France.
