The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, announced the initiation of discussions for the 2027 budget during a government meeting. Ministries and public institutions are required to submit proposals for spending limits and complete data on investments, European funds, personnel expenses, and budget programs. As of November 4, 49 out of 56 budgetary authorities had submitted their proposals, while others are still finalizing their data. Nazare emphasized the importance of identifying projects that will not receive funding starting in 2027 and the need for a new digital system to ensure transparency in budget requests. He highlighted that the budget must be based on available resources and the trajectory of deficit reduction, which is crucial for maintaining a credible budget and improving ratings from agencies.
