A journey between two Micronesian islands turned tragic when a storm capsized a boat with nine people. After three months, five survivors were found on Kiribati, 5,400 kilometers from their starting point. They had embarked on a short trip on July 30, 2026, but the boat never reached its destination. Despite a ten-day search, authorities suspended efforts in August. The survivors were discovered on November 1, dehydrated but receiving care. The fate of the other four passengers remains unknown, and local officials expressed relief at the rescue while hoping for the missing.
