MOL has successfully restarted the AV3 crude oil distillation unit at the Dunărea Refinery after extensive reconstruction following a fire in October 2025. The reconstruction, costing 18 billion forints, restored the refinery's full processing capacity, enhancing fuel supply security in Hungary and the region. No injuries occurred during the fire, but significant technical damages were repaired, including the installation of new pumps and electrical systems. The project adhered to advanced fire protection standards. Zsolt Hernádi, CEO of MOL Group, emphasized the importance of this achievement amid global supply disruptions, ensuring continuous fuel supply despite reduced capacity over the past year. The Dunărea Refinery is Hungary's only crude oil refinery, crucial for national fuel supply.
