The mayor of Cluj-Napoca, Emil Boc, has officially requested the metro contractor to recover delays and provide a clear timeline for the next phases of construction. During a press conference on November 5, he emphasized the need for a realistic schedule for the tunneling machines to begin work underground. Boc stated that the municipality has not yet received a response from the contractor regarding this request. The project has faced multiple delays, with recent efforts focused on design and geotechnical investigations. The contractor, Gülermak, has indicated that further checks on ground conditions are necessary before proceeding. The financing contract for the metro project amounts to 357 million euros, with a completion target set for 2032.
