Seven police officers in Sibiu have been detained for corruption, accused of accepting bribes to facilitate driver's license exams and vehicle registrations. Over a year, they allegedly assisted 170 drivers in obtaining various documents illegally. A 57-year-old man is implicated for demanding payments ranging from 100 lei to 1500 euros for expedited services, in collaboration with the officers. The investigation revealed that bribes between 50 euros and 2000 euros were solicited for similar documents. Fourteen searches were conducted, leading to the detention of the officers and two intermediaries for 24 hours, with 170 corruption offenses documented.
