Two police officers are under investigation for allegedly aiding a human trafficking network exploiting young women abroad. The officers are linked to a group suspected of sexual exploitation in Germany, the Netherlands, and Austria. One officer is accused of leaking information about a victim's complaint, while the other attempted to take control of the case to hinder investigations. The criminal organization, formed in Bucharest since January 2020, has around 30 members and has recruited victims through emotional manipulation and violence. Approximately 30 victims have been identified, and the group has reportedly generated over three million euros through illegal activities.
