Starting November 6, 2026, new traffic regulations for motorcyclists and moped riders will be implemented in Romania. These rules allow riders to maneuver between stopped vehicles at traffic lights at a maximum speed of 20 km/h, provided certain conditions are met. Additionally, motorcyclists will be permitted to use bus lanes where authorized by road administrators. The law also introduces designated safety spaces for two-wheeled vehicles at intersections and mandates the establishment of dedicated parking spots for motorcycles and mopeds in public areas. Helmets must be certified for safety, aiming to reduce injury risks in accidents.
