The Minister of Labor, Florin Manole, clarified the situation regarding pensioners whose pensions were incorrectly calculated. Those who received less than they were entitled to will receive the outstanding differences, while those who received more due to administrative errors will not have to return the excess amounts. The Ministry will correct the pension rights based on the nature of the errors. Over 2.2 million pensioners are affected by potential calculation errors, as highlighted by the Court of Accounts. The recalculation process began on September 1, 2024, under a new pension law, resulting in an average increase of 520 lei for many beneficiaries.
