In a violent incident in Broșteni, Ialomița, in May 2019, a man was killed during a conflict between two Roma families. The case, initially neglected for seven years, has now been taken over by prosecutors from the Bucharest Court of Appeal. Recently, over 20 individuals were detained by police and special forces for allegedly providing false testimony. The investigation is being redone from scratch by the authorities.
