Alba Iulia plans to transfer public transport services to Alba Iulia Transport Local SRL, established by the local government. The new operator will receive a ten-year contract, with an estimated annual performance of 2.34 million kilometers. This decision follows a transport crisis earlier this year. The projected costs for 2027 are around 19.38 million lei, with a compensation of approximately 9.51 million lei. The fare is set at 4 lei per ticket and 100 lei for a monthly pass. The project is currently in public consultation until November 18, 2026. The new transport company will operate 16 routes connecting key areas of the city, starting in January 2027.
