The inquiry covers the period from 2024 to 2026 and includes suspicions regarding salary payments for unperformed activities. Rogobete acknowledged being informed about the situation and noted previous incidents of medication theft in hospitals. The investigation also follows a broader anti-corruption probe at the same hospital, which began in 2023, involving fraudulent hiring practices. Several individuals, including former hospital management, have been detained, and recent convictions have occurred for bribery related to hiring processes.
