The Bucharest ring road is now 17.5 km short of completion after the opening of the 8.6 km segment between Afumați and Pantelimon. This segment allows traffic on the previously unused Pantelimon-Glina section. The construction of the ring road has been ongoing for seven years, with the remaining stretch connecting A1 and DN1 expected to be completed by 2027. Recent updates indicate significant progress on the remaining 17.5 km, including asphalt layers and road structures. The total investment for the completed sections amounts to 710 million lei, funded through the Transport Program 2021-2027. The overall road network in Romania has now reached 1,490 km.
