Prosecutors detailed the events leading to the devastating explosion in Rahova, caused by a defect in underground electrical cables that perforated a gas pipeline. Despite multiple reports of gas odor, the source was not identified in time. The explosion occurred on October 17, 2025, after gas accumulated in the building ignited, resulting in four fatalities and injuries to eight others. Six individuals, including two legal entities, have been charged with negligence leading to the disaster. Investigations revealed that the failure to properly address the gas leak allowed it to migrate and accumulate, ultimately causing the explosion.
